North Slave Logistics Inc. provides winter road hauling services for the mining industry in the NWT. The three diamond mines in the NWT are only accessible by ground for a short period during the winter months when the ice is thick enough to transport across. Together with Darlen Transport, North Slave Logistics strives to ensure its loads are delivered safely and on-time to these remote destinations.
In 2005, North Slave Logistics was awarded a multi-year contract to haul general freight and over-sized loads to the Diavik Diamond Mine site 300 km North of Yellowknife in the NWT. Our solid performance track record has led to annual increases in the allocation of loads under the contract. Despite the poor performance of the winter road in 2006 due to unfavourable weather conditions, our efficient operations enabled us to deliver increased profits for our shareholders. The outlook for future years is increased traffic, load volume, and profits for NSL.
North Slave Logistics continues to expand and increase their clientele within the mining industry of the NWT. The company’s future business plan includes evolving into a year-round hauling and logistics enterprise, using our industrial facility in Kam Lake as a base of operations and maintenance complex.
