 Formerly North Slave Métis Holdings Ltd., our corporation has taken on a new identity.
The MÉTCOR logo is both derived from and linked to the logo of the North Slave Métis Alliance parent organization. The bright red background represents the dominant colour of the traditional Métis sash. The gold colour symbolizes the wealth of our region and the prosperity of our members that we strive to increase and manage responsibly, as well as being reminiscent of the regions gold mining legacy. The man holding the canoe is walking forward in a new direction. Wearing his Métis sash, he carries the canoe alone symbolizing strength and individuality. The sash identifies the bond we have with our past. Finally, the infinity symbol on the canoe stands for unity and strength, and affirms our Métis identiy.
Together, these attributes represent the positive attitude and optimistic outlook MÉTCOR has for its membership and all Métis peoples across the Northwest Territories.
